My name is Jovany Cota and I am the President of the kappa chapter of Sigma Delta Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for the 2020-2021 academic school year. I joined Sigma Delta Alpha because my older brother was already a member coming into my first year at ucsb and I had seen how much he changed; he became more sure of himself and outspoken--I desired that change. I had looked into other Fraternities before, ultimately, leading me to the conclusion that Sigma Delta Alpha is the one for me. Since day one, I have witnessed how empowering, welcoming, and supportive each and every single brother is--they are all unique in their own way. Sigma Delta Alpha helped me to step out  of my comfort zone and to become a leader--which I have never pictured myself doing.
