Similarly to the National Pan-Hellenic Council, recognized chapters within the United Sorority and Fraternity Council conduct their recruitment, membership selection, intake, and initiation as an individual process. Generally, each group will maintain a quarterly schedule of recruitment events, which are often publicized on their social media.

Many USFC organizations hold their primary recruitment periods during Fall Quarter. We encourage interested students to start researching organizations and following their social media as Fall quarter approaches to stay informed about upcoming events and opportunities to connect.

We encourage you to take your time exploring our chapters. Each carries its own legacy, yet all together stand united in our mission to uplift one another and celebrate the diverse voices that make our council strong.

Joining a USFC organization is more than becoming a member, it's an opportunity to find a community of leaders, friends, and family who will support, challenge, and grow alongside you.

Explore our chapters, learn about their values and traditions, and discover where you feel at home.

Consider

  • Attending chapter-hosted events

  • Visiting USFC organizations during the Campus Organization Fair(s)

  • Following individual chapters on social media for recruitment updates

  • Connecting with members and asking questions about their experiences

  • Following @ucsbusfc on Instagram for rush updates, recruitment events, and chapter highlights

Finding the right organization is about more than learning what a chapter offers, it's about connecting with the people who make up its community. Take the opportunity to meet members, attend events, and ask questions about their experiences. Building these connections can help you learn more about each organization's values, culture, and community while finding the space that feels right for you.
