Founded april 4th,1986 at the university of Iowa
Sigma Gamma Chapter founded November 2nd , 2008 at UCSB
Baltazar Mendoza-Madrigal, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, wanted to create an organization that provided Latino students with the same strong support and sense of brotherhood that he witnessed within his own fraternity. This vision led to the founding of Sigma Lambda Beta. Over 30 years later, our fraternity has grown to more than 120 collegiate entities across over 30 states nationwide.
Since its founding at UCSB in 2008, the Sigma Gamma Chapter has welcomed over 140 brothers and continues to give back through scholarships, CPR Awareness, and our H.E.R.D. high school outreach program. Through service, scholarship, and community involvement, we continue to grow and strengthen our legacy at UCSB. Our brotherhood cannot be expressed, only experienced.
