Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. was founded on October 24th, 1986. Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. ZETA Chapter was established at the University of California, Santa Barbara on November 10th, 1991.
Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. since 1986 was founded with the purpose of instilling the desire for self improvement, scholastic excellence, and the cultivation for civic responsibility; also to promote unity and higher education amongst women. The siblings of Lambda Sigma Gamma pride ourselves to our 5 pillars of Multiculturalism, Scholarship, Sisterhood, Philanthropy, and Professionalism. We make a commitment to academic achievement, community service, cultural awareness, leadership, and professional advancement.
Our ZETA Chapter was established at UCSB in 1991, becoming the first multicultural sorority on campus. Despite facing pushback during a time when multicultural Greek organizations were not widely accepted and multicultural clubs were more common, our ZETA Founding Mothers persevered and paved the way for the organization we are today. In celebration of our multicultural community, we put on an annual event, Mr. Worldwide, a pageant which provides a space for individuals to showcase and celebrate their cultures, values, and talents
